IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

PLEASE TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO READ THIS IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

I want to ask your help with a very important matter. The Department of Modern Languages is trying to raise funds to modernize the classrooms in Trimble Hall. We want to generate around 20 thousand dollars a year to 1) equip two classrooms with the same kind of audiovisual equipment we have in TH200 (video/DVD projector, internet connectivity etc, large screens); 2) help fund our full time Lab Director Position (our Lab director would oversee these changes). The plan is to renovate two classrooms a year so that very quickly Trimble Hall could be a a much more modern classroom facility. Professors could show movies in class without reserving TH200, and use the internet projected onto screens during class. I'm very excited at the prospect.

We intend to raise these funds by having a 3$ facilities fee per course.

If you are in favor of paying this 3$ fee because you believe that it would ultimately benefit you and UTA, then I would like you to assist us in representing this plan to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts on Monday at 12 noon. The chair of Modern Languages, Dr. Elliott, would like interested students to attend this meeting to express their support.

I do not expect you to support this idea. There is no obligation, implicit or explicit that you support this because I am in support of this idea. This is America, after all. But if you sincerely believe that this fee is a good idea, and you are free on Monday at 11:45 or 11:50 to meet with Dr. Elliott and walk over to the Dean's office, we could really use your support.
